Impossible by Nancy Werlin

Lucy is seventeen when she discovers she is the latest recipient of a generations-old family curse that requires her to complete three seemingly impossible tasks or risk falling into madness and passing the curse on to the next generation. Unlike her ancestors, though, Lucy has family, friends, and other modern resources to help her out. But will it be enough to conquer this age-old evil? And will she have the time--she has to figure it all out and break the curse before her daughter is born.

This is the next book for the Teen Book Club. Haven't gotten your copy yet? Make sure to let Natalie know!

I can't make it to the next meeting (today) but...

I loved Hunger Games, while being terrified of it at the same time because I'm a huge scaredy cat. : ) The suspense was killing me toward the last half of the book so I sat down and finished it. The ending was in your face and I was, again, terrified. I couldn't believe what the capital did with the losers of the game. I was shocked. I really wish Katniss understood Peeta more because Peeta=♥! lol anyway, it was supergood, and even after I finished it I couldn't stop thinking about it!

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Katniss is a 16-year old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used to be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called "The Hunger Games". The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When Kat's sister is chosen by lottery, Kat steps up to go in her place.
Finished reading The Hunger Games? Comment now on what you thought of it? Loved it? Make sure to check out Catching Fire and coming out next week, Mockingjay!

My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent

Our next book is My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent.

Kaylee has a special gift--only she sees it as a curse. When she sees someone who is about to die, she has an almost uncontrollable urge to scream. She manages to keep it inside, since the last time she actually screamed, she was sent to a mental hospital for months.

One night, she and her friend Emma sneak into a nightclub and Kaylee sees a girl she knows is going to die. Somehow she manages to escape without screaming, and Nash, a guy from her school, calms her down before she can let the scream go. And then another girl dies, and then yet another. Kaylee can't help but think they're all connected--and all her fault. Nash seems to know more than he's letting on, but he hesitates to tell her what's going on.

Until Kaylee decides she has to figure out the connection between all the deaths and herself. Something that pulls everyone she cares about into the mess.
